Ok so right now at this moment in time I feel like i am going to be stuck in the rent trap forever. I feel like I cant really do what I want in the home I currently live in and I would love to be paying my own mortgage rather than my landlords.
So here is the deal, I want to save enough money to get a deposit on a house by 2015. I have 3 children so would like a 3-4 bed house we currently live in a large 3 bed. The average nice 3 bed house here is around £130k and there is also a few 4 beds that come up around this price. I would like a 15%- 20% deposit (as I dont think we will be able to secure a 10% mortgage). So I would like to save up some where in the region of £19,500 and £26k. Our annual income is lower than the 1st sum so this is going to be a heck of a challenge unless I win the lotto at some point in the next 15 months.
My plan is to earn money online/ surveys, save money through couponing, and win lots of stuff to sell (I am a comper and win quite a lot of things one of my recent big wins was a £500 mothercare voucher but have also won a 3d tv, an xbox, cash all sorts of goodies! Over 100 wins this year!
Well its worth a shot.
Anything I win and sell I will put the money aside straight away, money I save through couponing etc will go into the savings kitty around the 10th of each month after we have paid rent and know what is left :) I think it will be very slow to start with (mainly due tot he comps im entering atm being for xmas presents) My aim is to get £1k by xmas and then majorly work ward at it next year!
